Santa Monica, California-based esports organization Cloud9 announced Wednesday that it has appointed Michael Choi as chief product officer. In this new role Choi will be in charge of “product vision, strategy, and roadmap,” according to a release.
Prior to joining Cloud9, Choi served as CEO of FlyQuest—a role he took over from longtime CEO Tricia Sugita, who left the company in June of last year to join Cloud9 as its new chief marketing officer. In December, FlyQuest announced that Brian Anderson had left his role as CEO at beastcoast to replace Choi in the top executive role.
Choi spent more than three years at FlyQuest in multiple roles including CEO, COO, director of operations, and senior project manager. He joined FlyQuest from Gamer Sensei where he spent three years as a partnered coach.
