Award-Winning Producer Bill McCullough Leaves FaZe Clan to Join XFL

Bill McCullough quietly left his job as EVP of content at publicly-trade esports organization FaZe Clan in October, resurfacing last week (it was officially announced on Dec. 27) at pro football league XFL as its new chief content officer.

McCullough spent nearly two years at Faze producing a slate of content including Youtube series, documentaries, scripted series, feature films, and podcasts for the organization. He also created Faze1, a reality-based talent search show that awarded the winner $1M USD in cryptocurrency, a $250K brand deal with Ghost, and a brand new Nissan GTR.

McCullough’s time at Faze is a mere blip in his storied career as a producer; he is an 11-time Emmy Award winner and has held executive content and producer roles over the last 20 years at HBO, GoFundMe, the NFL (across multiple stints at the league), and GoPro Studios, among others.

In 1998 he launched his own studio—Wonderland Productions—where he spent more than 11 years working on entertainment properties for multiple networks such as Life in the D-League and Sidelines for ESPN; Brown on Black and America Investigates for PBS; Assault in the Ring, Behind the Curtain with John Leguizamo, and Cutting Edge for HBO; Untold for SpikeTV; and Insider Training for Discovery, among others.

In his new role at XFL,  McCullough is charged with leading content strategy, development and production across the league and working with both internal and external teams to create content.
