Scholastic and amateur esports platform PlayVS announced Monday that it has partnered with the National Football League (NFL) to launch the Madden NFL Youth Championship (MYC), a Madden NFL 25 tournament series for middle and high school students across the United States.
PlayVS said in a release that this new program is designed “to promote leadership skill development, camaraderie and personal growth through joining a community of Madden NFL players.” The company will facilitate all competitions and provide a hub for team schedules, match play, player and coach chats, team standings, and playoff brackets.
In addition, PlayVS announced that Los Angeles Rams running back Kyren Williams will join “The Insiders” on the NFL Network Sept. 10, at 7 p.m. ET to discuss details on the Madden Youth Championship.
“This is a unique opportunity for young boys and girls who love Madden to build camaraderie and represent their schools at the Pro Bowl Games or the 2025 NFL Draft,” said Williams. “It’s a chance for these students to experience an NFL event that few will get in their lifetime.”
Students interested in joining MYC may do so by forming and registering as a scholastic esports team or individually. Players aged 13-18 in the U.S can register to compete in up to four open tournament qualifiers as an individual, or as a team compete through their school esports program in a season-long competition to be crowned the best team in the state or region.
Registrations for both the Madden Youth Championship middle and high school scholastic leagues and open tournaments are now open at playvs.com/madden-nfl-youth-championship.
