Former Fnatic and GIANTX CEO Wouter Sleijffers has joined ELO Agency as a co-founder, alongside Roald Van Buuren and Jan Moerland.
The London-based agency was formally announced in late April by former FACEIT and ESL esports events executives Roald Van Buuren and Jan Moerland.
This new firm aims to help game developers, esports teams, sports clubs, and other companies interested in the competitive gaming landscape with event management solutions that “streamline the complex process of esports events planning and execution.”
It is unclear, as of this writing, what Sleijffers’ role and purpose within the agency will be. In a social media post announcing the news, said:
“I’m really happy to be joining Roald Van Buuren and Jan Moerland as co-founder for ELO Agency. This embarks the starting point of a larger mission with more to come.”
Van Buuren spent more than a decade at UK-based tournament platform FACEIT as director of esports, VP of events, and VP of marketing—he left the company in the summer of 2022. Moerland joined the company from ESL FACEIT Group, where he spent more than a year as tournament manager and, prior to that, more than two years as league operations manager at FACEIT before it was acquired and combined with ESL by Saudi Arabian government-owned Savvy Games Group.
