MistGames announced Wednesday that it will serve as the official tournament organizer of the upcoming Valorant Champion Tour Ascension EMEA Play-In Tournament. The second-place team from each Challengers League will compete, with the overall winner qualifying for the 10th spot in Ascension. VCT Ascension is a yearly tournament (hosted in all international VCT regions) that gives top teams from the Valorant Challengers Leagues (VCL, or tier-2 teams) a shot at earning a spot in VCT EMEA.

According to MistGames, the Play-In Tournament will feature the second-best teams from the nine regional leagues in Challengers EMEA, with the aim of securing a coveted final spot in VCT Ascension EMEA 2024.

The VCT Ascension EMEA PLAY-INS will take place July 28-31.

In case you didn’t know, MistGames is a Norway-based tournament operator that runs Valorant Challengers North: Polaris, and Counter-Strike academy team circuits Heroes of Lofoten and Heroes of Tomorrow.

On a related note, Riot Games announced last week that Paysafe had been named the main partner of Valorant Champions Tour EMEA (VCT EMEA) and Valorant Game Changers EMEA until the end of 2025.

In June the developer revealed some major changes to VCT Challenger Leagues in 2025, including removing auto-relegation and replacing it with a performance-based system, lengthening the Ascension term to one year, and capping the International Leagues to 12 teams. More details on these and other changes can be found on the official VCT site.
