Online eyewear retailer Zenni Optical announced Tuesday that it has entered into a partnership agreement with Evo, arguably the world’s largest and longest-running fighting game tournament series.
Financial terms of this partnership were not disclosed.
Under the terms of this new deal, Zenni has been named the “official eyewear of Evo,” and is the first company in this category to partner with the fighting game competition in its long history. Zenni will have a branding presence at Evo Japan and Evo 2024 taking place in Las Vegas in July. Evo and Zenni will also work together on launching eye health awareness and educational content alongside a new Evo-branded eyewear collection, according to a release.
Founded in 2002 by Tom and Tony Cannon, Evo (short for Evolution Championship Series) is the longest-running fighting game competition in the world. In March 2021, Evo was acquired through a joint venture between Sony Interactive Entertainment and talent agency Endeavor (RTS). Evo 2024 is set to take place in Las Vegas, Nevada, from July 19 – 21 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Competitions will be held for Street Fighter 6, Tekken 8, Mortal Kombat 1, Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, Under Night In-Birth II [Sys:Celes], Guilty Gear -Strive-, The King of Fighters XV, and Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike.
