Singapore-based game developer Foonie Magus announced that it has partnered with Los Angeles-based United Esports and Hong Kong-based Talon Esports to promote its web3-based MOBA, Apeiron.

Apeiron is a mash-up of multiple genres under the umbrella of being called a MOBA including real-time strategy, auto battlers, and collectible card-based gameplay.

Financial terms of these partnerships were not disclosed.

The partnership will see both Talon Esports and United Esports showcase the game’s player vs. player (PVP) gameplay through a tournament featuring two conferences: Eastern Conference (for Asia) and Western Conference (Americas). The Western Conference (is scheduled for April 4-6, while the Eastern Conference (Americas) will take place April 11-13.

The tournament will feature a “double-elimination bracket format, with matches being best-of-3 and best-of-1,” according to a release. Each player will be able to bring three decks with a different Avatar—but once a deck has won a game, it may not be used again within that set. The tournament will feature a total prize pool of $30K USD, with rewards ranging from $750 to $5K for the top Apeiron players.

The event is invite-only and will feature Web2 and Web3 star players, according to a release, but fans can influence the selection by requesting their “favorite Key Opinion Leaders” be allowed to join.

The participants include ”notable members of the Web2 and Web3 gaming space,” including:

Web2:

  • (East) League of Legends pro player Tsai “GreenTea” Shang-Ching, master of card games Deathsie.

  • (West) top TeamFightTactics player RobinSongz, content creator and chess Woman Grandmaster akaNemosko, the most viewed English Hearthstone streamer Rdu.

Matches will be streamed via the Aperion Discord, according to organizers.
