Longtime 100 Thieves President and Chief Operating Officer John Robinson announced Thursday that he would be stepping down from his roles at the company

Robinson spent more than six years in the role at the Los Angeles-based esports organization, joining in December 2019 from Nexon Mobile, where he served as VP and GM for three years.

Robinson is credited with securing early funding for the organization and launching several of its successful business ventures, including energy drink brand Juvee, which was sold earlier this year to Sprecher Brewing Company in January for an undisclosed amount.

Robinson posted the following message to fans and friends on social media:

“After an incredible six years, I’m stepping down as President & COO at 100 Thieves and transitioning to Advisor. I’m so proud of everything that we’ve accomplished as a team since our humble start in esports and our first hoodie drop back in 2018. Celebrating our championships are moments I’ll never forget, and I’ll always be rooting for 100 Thieves.

“Feeling very grateful today for all the talented staff, players, coaches, and creators I got to work with over the years, as well as all of our partners who supported our journey. I’m especially happy to pass the baton to Jason Ton, Jacob Toft-Andersen, and Julie V., who are all being promoted today to take on larger roles – they’ve been core to 100 Thieves’ success and I’m excited to see them lead the company to new heights over the years to come.

Lastly, a special thank you to my partner and friend, Nadeshot. For inviting me on the ride of a lifetime and spending the last six years together building something special, I appreciate you brother.”

Robinson did not say what he plans to do next—whether that includes a new stint related to esports or a return to his past work in the video game development space.
