MEAC Esports Championship Heads to Norfolk Scope Arena in March

The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) announced this week that its Spring Esports Championship will be returning to Norfolk Scope Arena, in Norfolk, Virginia, in March. This is the second consecutive year that the in-person event is being held at the Norfolk Scope Arena.  

The MEAC Esports Championship will also be taking place in conjunction with the conference’s Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships in March. Organizers also note that this year’s tournament will build on last year’s event with the introduction of new games in the competition. This year players will compete in  Super Smash Bros, Valorant, Mario Kart, and Call of Duty.  The MEAC Esports Championship takes place March 14 -15, starting at 1 PM local time.

Prizing for competitions is as follows:

Super Smash Bros.: $700 (1st place); $400 (2nd place); $300 (3rd place) 

Valorant (3v3): $350 to each player 

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: $400 (1st place); $150 (2nd place); $100 (3rd place) 

Call of Duty (5v5): $350 to each player
