Frost Giant Explores Equity Crowdfunding for Stormgate

Game developer Frost Giant Studios announced Monday that it is taking reservations for a possible, upcoming crowdfunding round on StartEngine. This “test the waters” campaign to gauge interest from the community to help fund the continued development of its upcoming real-time strategy game, Stormgate

“This initiative offers supporters a chance to reserve a spot in advance to invest at a later date in Frost Giant Studios and directly benefit from the success of Stormgate, the studio’s highly anticipated real-time strategy game,” the company said in a release.

Should the campaign be fully initiated into an actual crowdfunding campaign, First Giant will offer “early investors” a “5% share bonus for reserving shares during the test the waters preview period.”

“Frost Giant Studios’ crowd-equity offering on StartEngine will enable private investors and passionate players to actually be our business partners, to help launch Stormgate in the best way possible—together,” said Tim Morten, CEO and Production Director of Frost Giant Studios. “The funds we secure will bolster a strategic marketing campaign, setting the stage for Stormgate’s Early Access launch this summer. This initiative invites our supporters to upgrade into shareholders.”

During this early phase, $48,399.19 has been committed to the campaign from 22 potential investors (as of this writing), should Frost Giant consider activating it at a later date to be determined.

Frost Giant raised $2.38M USD for Stormgate in 2023 from a crowdfunding campaign, setting a record for the year on the platform as the “largest video game Kickstarter.” The game is tentatively set for release on PC this summer.
