India-based gaming festival and esports tournament organizer Nodwin Gaming has acquired the rights to and operations of Comic Con India. The acquisition, valued at ₹55 crore, or approximately $6.61M USD, was a mixture of cash and stock.

Under the terms of the deal, Nodwin acquires 100% of the company, with Comic Con India Founders Jatin Varma and Karan Kalra staying on to manage operations within the country under the Nodwin brand.

Nodwin, a wholly owned subsidiary of mobile games company Nazara Technologies, is best known for operating high-profile esports tournaments and gaming festivals in South Asia, Singapore, the Middle East and North Africa, Turkey, and other regions.

Nodwin is one of the most prominent tournament organizers in India, and has worked with such companies as Riot Games, ESL FACEIT Group, Krafton, Blizzard, MTV, Red Bull, and many other important international tournament organizers, stakeholders, and brands.

In May 2023, the company raised $28M from investors to fuel expansion plans. Investors in the funding round included Nazara, Krafton, Jetsynthesys Private Limited, and Good Game Investment Trust, alongside new investors Sony Group Corporation and Innopark (India) Private Limited. The transaction valued NODWIN at $349M post-money.
