Los Angeles-based esports organization Sentinels announced Monday a new partnership with  performance supplements company Advanced to create and deploy a new branded flavor called “Hopium,” along with merchandise that will be bundled and sold on the company’s online store.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed but the partnership will run for one year, according to a release.

Sentinels Hopium is described as “raspberry lemonade-flavored energy drink” powders  under the Advanced “Energy,” “Hydration,” and “Focus” product lines. The “Focus” line is used to improve mental performance, “Energy” boost energy and provides electrolytes, and “Hydration” offers a caffeine-free drink that “increases the electrolyte dose.”

Sentinels Hopium will be sold on the Sentinels and Advanced online stores separately for $34.99 USD per jar, or as part of a premium bundle featuring Hopium along with a limited-edition t-shirt and ice shaker for $84.99. Sentinels and Advanced are also offering a 10% discount by using the promotional code “SEN.”

In October, Sentinels announced that its ownership group had committed an additional $3.4M into the company for its continued operations well into 2024. There had been some concern that Sentinels was struggling financially following an equity crowdfunding campaign through StartEngine that was announced on July 12,  and formally launched in August. Some in the community interpreted this move to be an act of desperation, but a Sentinels rep. Told TEA in October that the campaign was a way to involve fans and not a significant vehicle to generate capital.

Sentinels currently fields professional teams in Valorant, Apex Legends, and Halo. It also serves as the home of content creators such as Tarik Celik,  Brandon “Aceu” Winn, Daphne “39Daph” Wai, and Jared “Zombs” Gitlin.
