Berlin-based gaming and esports data platform GRID announced Thursday that it has signed a multi-year deal with French publisher Ubisoft to serve as the company’s exclusive esports live data platform.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
GRID will begin this new partnership by collaborating with Ubisoft to grow its esports data ecosystem for BLAST R6. with the first set of esports data being made available during the BLAST R6 Major Atlanta.
Further, GRID Esports will oversee the distribution of all official BLAST R6 data assets, including “major global and regional tournaments” such as BLAST Majors and Six Invitationals.
GRID and Ubisoft have also collaborated to establish the data infrastructure and APIs required to source data from the esports gameservers, GRID noted in its release. That data includes “granular, real-time, in-game statistics for pro players, teams, and matchups,” which will be available “exclusively on the GRID Data Platform”
The BLAST R6 Major Atlanta kicked off on Oct. 31, in Atlanta, Georgia, and will run until Nov. 12. Tournament organizer BLAST announced at the end of October that it had partnered Eureka Ergonomic and CTRL for the event.
