Zach Braaten Named Chief Strategy Officer of Fenworks

Zach Braaten announced Monday that he has joined North Dakota-based, scholastic-focused esports and drone racing company Fenworks as its new chief strategy officer. Earlier this month, Braaten announced that he would leave Chicago-based tournament platform and competition organizer LeagueSpot for a new endeavor.

During his more than four years at LeagueSpot, Braaten served in various sales roles including VP of sales, VP of client success, and business manager. If you’re not familiar with LeagueSpot, the Chicago-based company focuses on enterprise-level partnerships, working with colleges, school districts, and state and local charitable organizations to bring esports to young people.

Fenworks is similar in its mission; a STEM.org accredited, for-profit company, it works with local and state K-12 schools to bring after-school video game and drone racing competitions to students that promote teamwork and STEM education principles. It works primarily in the state of North Dakota, but we imagine it has aspirations to expand its footprint into surrounding states.

The company’s supporters include the Broadband Association of North Dakota, Minot State University, Microsoft, North Dakota State University, North Dakota State College of Science, University of Jamestown, EMAX USA, Alerus, Leighton Engage, and the University of North Dakota.
