Hauk Nelson has been promoted to director of business development at Los Angeles-based esports organization NRG Esports. Nelson most recently worked in sales at the company—a promotion from his role as the company’s blockchain strategy and development lead.
Prior to that, Nelson served as NRG’s partnerships manager, helping to manage sponsorships and partnerships for the organization with companies such as The General, McDonald’s, Hot Pockets, and Levi’s, T-Mobile, and Coinbase, among others.
Nelson joined the company in February of 2021 from KemperLesnik, where he helped build collegiate Rocket League esports competition, the Maui Esports Invitational. Prior to that, he served as the CEO of grassroots esports organization Ares Esports and as head analyst at Team Fusion Esports.
NRG Esports currently competes in Rocket League, Valorant, League of Legends Championship Series (LCS), and Overwatch League (San Francisco Shock). It also owns content creation arm Full Squad Gaming, which Nelson currently handles sales for in addition to his main duties at NRG.
