ESL FACEIT Group-owned esports platform FACEIT and popular mobile battle royale game PUBG Mobile (owned by South Korean game publisher Krafton) announced plans Friday to launch the first PUBG Mobile Challenger Cup in EMEA and regular daily cups to allow players to earn its platform-specific currency, FACEIT points.

Financial terms of this new partnership were not disclosed.

Players in EMEA can sign up now to compete in the first set of 16 qualifiers for the PUBG MOBILE Challenger Cup, beginning Aug. 10, with finals taking place Sept. 9-10 for a part of a €10K ($11K USD) total prize pool. Players can also compete in “rotating solo, duo, and squad formats” to earn for FACEIT points, which can be redeemed in the FACEIT Shop for UC (the in-game currency in PUBG Mobile).

In a release, FACEIT said that this new collaboration with PUBG Mobile is part of the company’s “long-term strategy of building open, aspirational, rewarding and sustainable esports ecosystems” by leveraging its “platform technology and decades of experience.” More importantly, this new partnership gives FACEIT users in EMEA access to arguably the biggest mobile battle royal game in the world.
