On July 14, Abner Chen, the assistant general manager of K1 Cooperation Department of Tencent and Publishing Producer of CrossFire, unveiled the 2023 esports plans for CrossFire at the Tencent Esports Global Summit.

There are three key developments that Chen unveiled during his presentation on the main stage of the event Tencent Global Esports Summit:

  1. CrossFire now has over 1B registered players, and 95% of CrossFire esports audiences are male.
  2. CrossFire Pro League (CFPL) had signed a 10-year partnership with Chengdu’s Gaoxin District, and settled the professional league in Chengdu. All 10 franchised esports teams have settled their CrossFire divisions in Chengdu. In addition, CrossFire’s world championship event—CrossFire Stars (CFS) 2023—will also be held at Chengdu Gaoxin Gymnasium in December. As Chen mentioned: “Connect to the World from Chengdu.”
  3. The CFPL Summer Finals will be held at Beijing National Aquatics Center (Water Cube), which hosted the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, and has over 6,000 seats.

The CFPL is China’s top CrossFire franchise league and currently has six sponsors including automobile brand Buick, Chinese dairy brand Bright Dairy, Sony, Alienware, gaming chair AutoFull, and Chinese shoe brand Warrior.

Chen also noted during his presentation that the sponsorship between CFPL and Buick is for three years, and CFPL has seen over 10,000 users purchase Buick automobiles.
