100 Thieves to Launch ‘Bank Heist’ for Fortnite on July 11

Los Angeles-based esports and gaming company 100 Thieves will launch its first game project, a new island/mode built in Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) for Fortnite called “Bank Heist,” on Tuesday (July 11). Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag teased the launch of the new game effort last week in a video on social media.

In addition to leveraging the game development team—which is also currently working on a full-fledged, unannounced game title—Bank Heist was built with input and feedback from 100 Thieves’ top creators including Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag, Rachell “Valkyrae” Hofstetter, and Jack “CouRage” Dunlop.

The competitive mode created by 100 Thieves features round-based competition revolving around heist scenarios, battling against the clock and other teams to make it to the top of the global leaderboard. The mode requires strategic teamwork as players plan with teammates, figure out the best approach to pull off a job, and execute it better than the other teams. Bank Heist also features original art, environments, and themes created by the 100 Thieves development team.

100 Thieves said in a release that it is “betting big” on Epic Games’ UEFN platform and that fans can expect to see future updates to “Bank Heist,” as well as additional Fortnite game islands “in the coming months.”

These development efforts are in addition to 100 Thieves’ AAA shooter game “Project X,” that was announced in 2022 and is being built in Unreal Engine 5.

100 Thieves is one of several esports organizations that has diversified into other areas connected to gaming and culture. In addition to its game development work and its continued efforts in several competitive esports scenes, it sells an energy drink called Juvee–a brand and product championed by 100 Thieves Founder Haag, and in 2021, it acquired boutique keyboard company Higround.
