At the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity on Tuesday, Mastercard CMO & CCO Raja Rajamannar announced that his company will extend its partnership with Riot Games to include Valorant Champions Tour (VCT). Mastercard has been working closely with Riot since 2018 globally when it became the first major non-endemic partner and sponsor of League of Legends esports.

“Today, we are excited to announce that Mastercard is extending our support of esports and building on the success of our League of Legends esports sponsorship with the addition of Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) – the fastest growing esport in the world,” Rajamannar wrote in a blog post announcing the deal.

This expanded relationship will make its debut at Valorant Champions 2023 in Los Angeles in August, with Mastercard having a major presence during the culmination of the 2023 competitive season with branding, during broadcasts, and with activations similar to what it already does with Riot for League of Legends esports.
