FIBA (International Basketball Federation), 2K Games, and NBA 2K League announced Tuesday that they have entered into an multi-year agreement that will see all parties work together to better organize international events for National Federations and the global esport gaming community.

The multiyear deal aims to create deeper cooperation between eFIBA events and the NBA 2K League by identifying regional talent, giving eFIBA participants the opportunity to participate in NBA 2K League events and/or the NBA 2K League Draft, and establishing a national team competition system.

This will include adding qualifiers, four regional finals (Africa, Asia including Oceania, Americas, and Europe), and the eFIBA World Finals to the eFIBA esports calendar each year.

This fall will see the creation of this first eFIBA effort in partnership with ESL FACEIT Group (EFG).

FIBA, whose headquarters are located in Mies, Switzerland, is an independent international basketball association formed in 1932 that represents 212 National Basketball Federations throughout the world and is recognized as the sole authority in basketball by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
