Bitget ‘Official Crypto Exchange Partner’ of Dota 2 Bali Major

East Africa-based crypto derivatives and trading platform Bitget announced this week that it is a sponsor of the Dota 2 Bali Major, which began on Thursday and runs until July 9.

Financial terms of the sponsorship were not disclosed. Curiously, Bitget is not listed on the main sponsor page for the Dota 2 Bali Major (The Esports Advocate reached out to organizers for clarification), as of this writing, but is listed elsewhere on the site. Organizers of the Major also did not seem to promote the deal on social media or through wire services, as for as we know.

The Seychelles-based company says that it will serve as the official crypto exchange partner during the Valve-sanctioned Major being facilitated by I0 Esports and Epulze, according to a release (which we have archived here for posterity).

The company did not disclose specifics on what activities it will be taking part in or offering during the Major. Bitget has sponsored other Dota 2 Majors in the past including PGL Major Stockholm 2021, PGL Major Antwerp 2022, and PGL DOTA 2 Major Arlington 2022.

Other Bali Major sponsors and partners include Ayana Estate (where the event is being hosted), Dua Kelinci snack brand Sukro, ACER Predator, Russian broadcast partner Fissure, gaming chair maker DXRACER, internet service provider Biznet, travel partner Airpaz, and gray market betting company 1xBet.

Another oddity is that while 1xBet advertisements (at least for Western audiences) have been frequent during broadcasts, gambling is strictly prohibited in Indonesia, and is considered illegal for both locals and visitors from other countries to engage in—something that is very important to note for those physically at the competition.
