Doug Parsons Joins Moonrock

Doug Parsons joined New York-based content marketing and media agency Moonrock as its new director of program management in April. Moonrock specializes in the promotion of clients in the gaming, esports, and live events sectors.

Parsons spent more than five years at esports and media company ReKTGlobal. He joined the company in 2016 as senior account manager, where he spent more than four years in the role before being promoted to director of account management (a role he stayed in for more than a year). During and after the acquisition of ReKTGlobal in July of 2022 by metaverse company Infinite Reality, Parsons was promoted to vice president of sales operations—a role he stayed in until his exit in December of 2022.

Before joining ReKTGlobal, Parsons worked in executive sales positions at a number of high-profile media companies including Eurogamer, VICE Media, Ziff Davis, and Future Publishing.

With the acquisition of ReKT Global, Infinite Reality picked up a number of gaming and esports properties including Rogue (which was rebranded to KOI through a partnership in October of 2022) and Call of Duty League team the London Royal Ravens.

In December, Infinite Reality revealed plans to go public through a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC), expecting to raise $128M USD at a valuation of $1.85B. Those plans have apparently been put on hold.
