AMD, Windows 11 Named ‘Powered By’ Sponsors of Skyesports Masters

Indian esports tournament operator Skyesports announced Wednesday that it has partnered with AMD and Microsoft’s Windows 11, who will serve as “powered by sponsors” for its upcoming franchised esports tournament, the Skyesports Masters.

Skyesports Masters is scheduled to take place in Mumbai, India, in front of a huge live audience, later this year, and will see eight franchised teams competing in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive for a piece of a Rs. 2 Crores total prize pool, or roughly $245K USD.

Financial terms of the deals with Microsoft India and AMD India were not disclosed. Microsoft’s Windows 11 operating system will be powering Skyesports Masters tournament equipment, which also features AMD hardware.

Skyesports announced the franchised league on April 14. The company noted in its announcement that it has partnered with local gaming cafés across 20 different cities in India such as Chennai, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and more to serve as locations for franchised teams to find homegrown talent through what it is calling “cafe qualifiers.”
