According to data provided by the City of San Diego to ESL FACEIT Group and shared with The Esports Advocate, DreamHack San Diego generated an estimated $4.7M USD in economic impact during the three-day gaming lifestyle festival that was held at the  San Diego Convention Center from April 7-9.

Specific details on how this figure breaks down across various local businesses such as hotels, restaurants, and other retail establishments were not provided.

Earlier this month ESL FACEIT Group noted that more than 41,000 total attendees passed through the three-day festival, setting a record as the largest-ever U.S. DreamHack festival to-date. In addition the event hosted exhibitor booths, contests, musical performances, retro arcades, and more.

DreamHack San Diego also featured a number of esports tournaments and LAN competitions that delivered nearly $1M USD in total prize money.

Earlier this month Riot Games held the League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) Spring Finals in Raleigh, North Carolina, and that multi-day event generated an estimated $1.6M for the local economy.
