On Thursday the National Football League announced the Saweetie Super Bowl Concert Presented by Intuit in the virtual world of Roblox. The “free virtual concert” features Warner Records hip-hop artist Saweetie and will serve as an “official part of the NFL’s Super Bowl LVII event line-up.”

Set inside Roblox in Warner Music Group’s Rhythm City (it was revealed earlier this week), Saweetie will deliver performances that the NFL calls a “family-friendly” set including her hit single”Tap-In.” The Saweetie Super Bowl Concert is obviously meant to promote Super Bowl LVII.

The virtual concert will take Feb. 10 at 7:00 p.m. ET (4:00 p.m. PT) and will be re-aired every hour until Feb. 12. A collection of digital items related to the concert will be sold on the Roblox marketplace as well.

The NFL also announced plans to launch “Super NFL Tycoon on Roblox presented by Intuit” on Saturday. Super NFL Tycoon is a team management game within Roblox that lets players “practice important financial and business skills with Intuit’s help.” The Saweetie Super Bowl Concert, Super NFL Tycoon, and Rhythm City were developed in conjunction with Gamefam.

While there has been a lot of talk about building the so-called metaverse, both Roblox and Epic Games’ Fortnite are already providing entertainment and cross-promotional content with brands, other game and entertainment IPs, sports leagues, and some of the biggest musical artists in the world.
