Up to $16.8M has been allocated for this initiative in 2024.
The event's organizer, the Esports World Cup Foundation is a non-profit backed by the Saudi Arabian government. The country - through its sovereign wealth fund PIF - also owns the ESL FACEIT Group and is invested in several major game developers.
