China’s League of Legends esports operator TJ Sports announced Friday that it has imposed a lifetime ban on TOP Esports (TES) player Yang “Naiyou” Zijian from all Tencent, Riot Games, and TJ Sports competitions and related non-competitive events, after determining that he had engaged in match-fixing in multiple instances.

A source familiar with the matter told The Esports Advocate that Zijian had previously been involved in match-fixing while competing in China’s secondary League of Legends circuit, the League of Legends Development League (LDL). The source said bookmakers later used that history as leverage, threatening to expose his earlier conduct if he did not continue to cooperate.

Top Esports separately announced that it had terminated Zijian’s contract and stated it would never again work with him. The organization also said any outstanding salary and prize money would be withheld, and that it reserved the right to pursue damages for breach of contract and related financial losses.

Zijian joined TES in 2021 as a youth training player on the organization’s LDL team. He was promoted to the club’s LPL roster in November 2025.

TJ Sports did not issue a fine against TES, but it did deliver a formal warning to the organization.

“In this incident, TES reported to TJ Sports in a timely and proactive manner and provided key evidence, which is commendable,” TJ Sports said. “However, there were severe oversights in TES’s day-to-day player management, leading to a failure to detect and prevent the player’s misconduct in time. All LPL teams are expected to take this as a warning.”

The case echoes a major competitive-integrity action from 2020, when former LPL organization Rogue Warriors (RW) was fined ¥3 million RMB ($434,062 USD) after player Wang “Weiyan” Xiang was found to have engaged in match-fixing during LPL competitions.
