The Portuguese Esports Federation (FPDE) and MOONTON Games announced Thursday that they have renewed their partnership.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
This renewed partnership aims to make Portugal a hub for European Mobile Legends: Bang Bang competitions, and integrate this hub into the game’s global esports ecosystem. As part of the partnership, ML:BB will serve as a flagship title at the Portuguese Esports Cup 2026, the country’s largest annual esports event. The Portuguese Esports Cup 2026 will take place from June 4 – 7, in Fundão, Portugal and will feature 20 competitions across 16 titles, with a combined prize pool of over €15,000 ($17,788 USD).
FPDE claims that the 2025 edition of the event generated 1.5 million impressions on media platforms, 26,000 interactions, €170,000 ($201,688) in media value, 63 hours of broadcast content and more than 230,000 minutes watched across online and offline platforms. MLBB emerged as one of the standout titles of the event.
The renewed partnership is also part of the “Portugal Strategic Esports Plan” called Vision 2030, a five-year plan that aims to position the country as a leader in “competitive integrity, innovation, and inclusion within esports.” This plan focuses on four main pillars, according to the FPDE:
- Recognizing esports as an official sport.
- Supporting health and education programs.
- Developing competitive pathways with integrity frameworks.
- Promoting diversity and inclusion.
“This partnership with MOONTON Games represents a significant milestone for FPDE and demonstrates the viability of Portugal as a premium esports market,” said Pedro Honório da Silva, president of FPDE. “Mobile Legends: Bang Bang has proven to be a community favorite, and we’re committed to providing world-class competitive opportunities for our players on the international stage.”
FPDE is a member of the International Esports Federation, Global Esports Federation, European Esports Federation, and Mediterranean Esports Federation.
