Retired G2 Esports League of Legends player Luka “Perkz” Perković has joined the ownership group of Croatia-based gaming cafe company Friendly Fire.

Financial terms of the deal including Perkz’ level of financial commitment were not publicly disclosed.

“I’m thrilled to be joining Friendly Fire at such an exciting moment in the brand’s journey,” said Perkz. “Friendly Fire has built something truly special—a mix of creativity, authenticity, and ambition that really resonates with people. I’m looking forward to helping shape what comes next and pushing the brand toward an even brighter, bolder future.”

In his new role as an owner and an ambassador for the company, Perkz will help promote the brand on his social media channels, by taking part in marketing efforts, and more.

Founded in 2017, Friendly Fire claims to have more than 18 cafes currently open and operating throughout four European countries and Mexico. Those locations include the UK, Belgium, Luxemburg, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Poland, and Ukraine. The company said in its announcement that it will also soon launch an expansion into the United States.

Perkz, who was born in Croatia, retired from professional play earlier this year after a long and storied career as one of the most popular and best-performing players in League of Legends esports. Over the years Perkz has played for such organizations as Cloud9, Team Heretics, Team Heretics, and most recently tier-2 organization The Ruddy Shack, but spent the bulk of his career at G2 Esports (2015 – 2020).
