U.S.-based electronics retailer Best Buy announced this week that it has appointed Dylan Jadeja to its board of directors. Jadeja is currently the CEO of Riot Games, and has served in executive leadership roles at the Valorant and League of Legends maker for more than 15 years.

“I’m honored to have the opportunity to join such a trusted, mission-driven brand that has connected deeply with consumers for nearly 60 years,” said Jadeja in a release. “Best Buy’s evolution into a company that brings new technology to life – in stores, online, and in-home – is incredibly compelling, and I look forward to contributing to the team on that journey.”

Best Buy added in the announcement that Jadeja brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table that will help the board in its decision-making process including “consumer brands, digital commerce, and serving passionate global player communities.”

Jadeja joined Riot Games in 2011 from investment firm Goldman Sachs to take on the dual roles of chief financial officer and chief operating officer. He stayed in those roles until 2017 when he was promoted to the role of president of Riot Games. In 2023 he was finally elevated to the role of CEO.

In addition to its online retail operations, Best Buy has more than 1,000 physical retail stores in the United States, as well as more than a thousand locations worldwide. Like many other retailers in the world operating brick and mortar locations, Best Buy’s biggest competitors are online retailer Amazon (first and foremost) and other brick and mortar stores such as Walmart and Target.
