Esports-focused agency XDOTG and its founder, Alex Gonzalez, announced their first major deal since launching in September. XDOTG has entered into an agreement with Canucks Sports and Entertainment to operate its Call of Duty League franchise, the Vancouver Surge, for the 2026 season of the Call of Duty League.
Financial terms of the new deal were not disclosed.
In addition, Gonzalez announced that Ricky “Atura” Lugo, Jaden “Kazbo” Kurtz, and Nate “Swagchecked” Betancourt will join Seattle Surge —all three worked at tier-2 Call of Duty and Warzone organization Omit prior to joining XDOTG/Vancouver Surge. (If you are not familiar with Omit, The Esports Advocate profiled the company and its founder in this feature article.)
Atura will join the company as Seattle Surge’s new head coach and GM, with Kazbo serving as creative director, and Swagchecked joining the CDL team as a brand manager.
“I’m excited for XDOTG (and myself) to be back in the esports space, and specifically in Call of Duty,” Alex Gonzalez told TEA Thursday. “This partnership with the Canucks is both a validation of the strength that XDOTG brings to the table and an opportunity for us to grow a storied team like Vancouver Surge to new heights.”
Following his exit from Luminosity Gaming after parent company Enthusiast Gaming sold off the division, Gonzalez and several Enthusiast executives formed XDOTG and formally announced its launch in September.
Gonzalez said at the time that the agency would operate on four pillars: talent, studios, culture, and distribution. Former Enthusiast Gaming Chief Marketing Officer Alex Gonzalez has launched a new agency called XDOTG, along with former Enthusiast Gaming executives.
The agency launch followed Enthusiast Gaming’s divestment of Luminosity Gaming and related assets, along with its direct-sales operation to Vertiqal Studios.
