The International Esports Federation (IESF) announced the 19 nations set to compete in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) at the 16th World Esports Championships (WEC25). The WEC25 MLBB tournament is being hosted in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from Dec. 1 – 7, with support from the Malaysia Esports Federation.
National teams taking part in the WEC25 MLBB tournament include Egypt, South Africa, Dominican Republic, Peru, Colombia, Argentina, Bolivia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Nepal, Cambodia, Indonesia, Myanmar, Iran, Türkiye, Belarus, Romania, Uzbekistan, and host nation Malaysia.
“Each year, the World Esports Championships bring together athletes and fans who share the same dream, to connect, to compete, and to grow,” said IESF General Secretary Boban Totovski. “We’re proud to see Mobile Legends: Bang Bang continue to bridge cultures and inspire players around the world. Malaysia will be an incredible stage for this year’s competition.”
As noted in The Esports Advocate’s previous coverage on this event, there will be no other WEC25 competitions in 2025; instead, all other game competitions will be moved into 2026. In May, TEA reported on IESF’s financial state and that it was trying to secure Lviv, Ukraine, as a destination for WEC25, but that deal fell through.
The IESF also announced at the end of October that Kuala Lumpur will serve as the location for its annual meeting, where members will elect a new president and board members.
