Esports gaming data and betting technology platform GRID announced Friday that it has signed a partnership with Sportstensor, the official market maker and liquidity provider for Polymarket.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Under the terms of this new deal, GRID will become the “official esports data oracle for Sportstensor,” providing its esports-related data from various games, including Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, League of Legends, Valorant, and other titles, through its various partnerships with game publishers and tournament organizers.
“Prediction markets are emerging as one of the fastest-growing frontiers for digital engagement,” said Dominika Szot, VP of growth at GRID. “Esports, a sport digital by nature, is a natural fit within that ecosystem. Integrity in settlement is critical, and official data provides the foundation to ensure predictions remain fair, transparent, and tamper-proof while adding new dimensions of entertainment value.”
Sportstensor co-founder & CEO Leo Chan added that it chose GRID as a partner because it provides “verified, rights-compliant data straight from the source.”
It has been an interesting time for GRID; in September, it acquired the intellectual property (IP) assets of Berlin-based Bayes Esports for an undisclosed amount. The acquisition follows Bayes Esports’ liquidation proceedings earlier this year, which The Esports Advocate first reported on on Aug. 6.
GRID serves as the official data platform for a number of major esports titles and competitions, including League of Legends, Valorant, Rainbow Six Siege, and PUBG, and is a prominent data partner within the Counter-Strike 2 and Dota 2 esports ecosystems. The company signed deals with ESL FACEIT Group and Chinese tournament organizer Clavision in July.
