The Saudi Esports Federation (SEF) announced Thursday that it has signed a deal with Olayan Food Services, licensed brand Burger King, to serve as the presenting partner of the 2025 Universities eLeague and the Schools eLeague.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The SEF described this deal as a significant investment in the future of grassroots, scholastic, and collegiate esports in Saudi Arabia, serving as a pipeline for developing talent and general growth of the esports community.
“We are delighted to welcome Burger King as a key partner for our School and Universities Leagues,” said Rawan AlButairi, CEO of Saudi Esports Federation. “Their commitment to our youth-focused initiatives aligns with our goal to empower students and provide them with meaningful experiences and clear pathways to succeed in the world of esports. This partnership is significant in strengthening our esports ecosystem and establishing the next generation of esports champions from Saudi Arabia.”
The SEF did not disclose the extent of the partnership, but we assume there will be some activations promoting Burger King, as well as cross-promotion during these competitive events on various social media platforms.
The 2025 season features more than 2,200 schools, 38 universities, and 1.2 million players, according to SEF. More than 1.2 million players competed in the 20924 season. The Schools eLeague, which runs until Dec. 19, features a total prize pool of SAR 50,000 (around $13,332 USD). The Universities eLeague began on Oct. 15 and will run until Jan. 30, 2026. It offers a total prize pool of SAR 250,000 (roughly $66,662 USD).
Olayan Food Services is a significant player in the country’s fast food industry; it is an official franchise license holder of Burger King restaurants in Saudi Arabia, with 170 branches across the Kingdom.
