Esports organization Method announced Tuesday that it has partnered with Theta Labs to launch an AI agent for the community, with a keen focus on the titles it competes in: World of Warcraft, Warcraft Rumble, and Dune: Awakening.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The Method AI Agent draws its base of knowledge from Method’s library of guides written by its in-house team, which covers an array of topics including class optimization, dungeon mechanics, raid strategies, encounters, builds, competitive tactics, and tier lists, among other things.
“World of Warcraft has meant so much to our community for 20 years, and having quick, easy and accessible content has gotten more important than ever. Method has always been at the forefront of innovation, and being able to combine Theta’s AI infrastructure with our knowledge, makes so much sense,” said Liam Whitehead, Head of Partnerships at Method. “We’re incredibly excited for our community to ask Method how to play a certain class, do a certain dungeon, or even “Who won Throne of Thunder,” we’ll be there to answer.”
The AI agent is set to launch “later this quarter,” according to the announcement.
Theta Labs joins other Method partners and sponsors including HOLY, VALHALLA, NaowhUI, Noda Prime, and Fateless, among others.
Method joins a number of other esports organizations that have deployed AI agents powered by Theta Network’s technology including 100 Thieves, Dignitas, Gen.G Esports, Cloud9, FlyQuest, NRG, and Evil Geniuses. The company also works with content creators such as YoBoyRoy; NHL teams such as the Las Vegas Knights and New Jersey Devils; and four of the top universities in South Korea. The company is backed financially by Samsung, Sony, Bertelsmann Digital Media Investments, and Creative Artists Agency, among others.
