Esports Awards 2025 nominees announced.

The Esports Awards announced Thursday the final nominees for the 2025 Esports Awards. This year’s edition of the awards will take place Nov. 19, in Las Vegas, Nevada, in tandem with its industry event, the PWR UP conference (Nov. 20), and its golfing event, the Esports Awards Golf Invitational.

The Esports Awards has faced controversy ever since it signed a three year deal with the Esports World Cup Foundation in 2024. Since that time, the company has been splitting its awards duties between Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and the rest of the world. In August, the Esports Awards hosted what it called the Decade Awards, which celebrated the best games, content creators, players, and more over the last ten years. The company claims that these awards garnered more than 36.25 million views globally.

Readers may notice that two categories are missing from this year’s slate of awards: Esports Journalist of the Year and Esports Coverage Platform of the Year. There’s no specific or official reasons for these omissions, but it is likely due to controversy surrounding the awards being funded indirectly by the Saudi Arabian government’s sovereign wealth fund, the Public Investment Fund. Some journalists and publications have pushed back on even having these categories because of the Saudi Arabian government’s involvement in the murder/execution of journalists such as Jamal Khashoggi in 2018 and, most recently, Turki al-Jasser.

Fans can vote for their favorite players, content creators, and more by visiting www.esportsawards.com/vote (voting closes on Nov. 12). The 2025 Awards categories and nominees are:
