Collegiate esports competition CECC coming to India in 2026 thanks to a new licensing partnership.

Collegiate Sports Management Group announced Friday that it has signed an international licensing partnership with India-based company Acceler Edtech Private Limited, in what is being described as its inaugural licensing deal.

Financial terms of this new deal were not disclosed.

Under the terms of this new licensing partnership, Acceler Edtech Private Limited’s property, Asymmetrical Learning, will bring Collegiate Sports Management Group’s Collegiate Esports Commissioner’s Cup (CECC) May Madness and its collegiate esports ecosystem to India. Asymmetrical Learning will work with CSMG to “develop scholastic gaming infrastructure and competitive programming in India modeled on the highly successful CECC May Madness tournament in the United States, which now spans across more than 800 campuses and is entering its sixth official season.”

The new property will be called CECC India, with plans to launch in Spring 2026. Featured game titles for CECC India will be confirmed at a later date, according to the announcement.

“This partnership represents a major milestone in our mission to build scholastic esports globally,” said Michael Schreck, CEO of CSMG. “India has one of the fastest-growing esports and gaming communities in the world, and by bringing CECC May Madness to this market, we can help accelerate scholastic gaming opportunities for students while connecting brands, schools, and fans in new ways.”

In case you are not familiar with it, Asymmetrical Learning is a learning platform aimed at K-12 students, developed in consultation with schools, corporates, and government bodies in India. You can learn more about the company at asymmetrical.ai.

In case you are not familiar with it, CECC is a collegiate esports league that brings together student esports athletes from across North America to compete in multiple game titles for the opportunity to be crowned the overall winner of its LAN finale event, the Commissioners Cup. The competition supports 320 teams, 185 schools, and 1,500 of the nation’s best collegiate-level esports athletes in such games as Overwatch 2, Rocket League, Valorant, Street Fighter 6, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Acceler Edtech Private Limited joins other CECC partners, including Monster, McDonald’s, Red Bull, Progressive, the U.S. Marines, State Farm, Cisco, and many more.
