Blizzard Entertainment announced details including dates, prizing, and tournament formats for Season Three of its competitive competitions related to its long running MMORPG, World of Warcraft: The War Within.
The competitions, the Mythic Dungeon International and the Arena World Championship, give World of Warcraft competitive players an opportunity to take on the best players in the world and secure part of prize pools in the six-figure range.
Time Trials for Season 3 of the Mythic Dungeon International open on Oct. 1, with top 18 global teams advancing to a Groups stage. Following the group events (four groups of six teams each, with a $30,000 USD prize pool for each group), two teams from each group (eight teams total) will then move on to a Global Finals in late-November, where they will compete for part of the $300,000 prize pool. Details on the competition can be found on the official WoW esports site, with sign-ups available at Raider.IO.
Season 3 of the Arena World Championship will feature three qualification cups where the top three teams from Europe and North America will head directly to the War Within Finals. A fourth team will be chosen through a Gauntlet that will see the top five bottom teams compete for part of a $20,000 prize pool and the fourth spot in the Finals. The over prize pool for the War Within Grand Finals is $200,000.
Details on the competition can be found on the official WoW esports site, with sign-ups available at Raider.IO.
In case you haven’t paid attention to WoW in a long time, these competitions utilize the 10th expansion and updated version of Blizzard’s long-running MMORPG, World of Warcraft: The War Within, which was launched in August 2024.
Blizzard Entertainment is a division of Activision Blizzard, which is in turn owned by Microsoft.
