To celebrate The International, the annual Dota 2 world championships, coming to Hamburg, Germany, in September, defending champions and global esports organization Team Liquid announced the launch of a city-wide fan activation that will promote The International coming to the city, and provide a much-needed service to fans.

From Sept. 11–14, Team Liquid will deploy a bus to serve as a free shuttle for fans traveling between Hamburg’s City Center and the Barclays Arena, and provide fan experiences during the tournament, while also promoting its brand. The decked-out bus will also feature a collaborative fan mural that will encourage attendees to write their personal stories onto the vehicle. The bus (pictured above) will feature the Team Liquid colors and the organization’s mascot, Blue.

The dedicated pop-up location for the bus will be Bistro Picknick, where it will also serve as  Team Liquid’s fan hub. In addition, Team Liquid will offer visitors “exclusive merchandise, unlock limited-edition TI rewards,” and a “range of surprise interactive activities with exclusive rewards,” according to the announcement.

Team Liquid won The International 2024, beating out nine other teams including Gaiman Gladiators, Tundra Esports, and Team Falcons to take home more than $1.2 million USD in prize money. Interestingly enough, because of a dispute between players and team owners, Gaiman Gladiators opted not to attend this year’s event.
