North American scholastic and collegiate esports company PlayVS announced Tuesday that it has partnered with PC hardware company ASUS for its PlayVS College League (PCL).
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Under the terms of this new deal, ASUS Republic of Gamers gear will be made available for the 2025-2026 collegiate season, starting with the inaugural PlayVS College League (PCL) Fall Championships, which is set to take place Dec. 13 – 14, at The University of Akron.
In addition, PlayVS will work with the gaming hard brand to create broadcast integrations, fan activations, and marketing efforts across social media and video content platforms. For its part, ASUS ROG will deliver ROG G700, ROG GM700 PCs, displays, and accessories to PCL competitors.
“At PlayVS, we are committed to giving student-athletes the very best environment and experience to showcase their talent,” said Jon Chapman, CEO at PlayVS. “Partnering with ASUS Republic of Gamers ensures our players have access to the most advanced gaming technology available, creating unforgettable live experiences for competitors and fans alike.”
This is a bit of a return engagement for ASUS ROG, as it previously served as the official PC sponsor of the Playfly College Esports Tournament of Champions held last May at Esports Stadium Arlington (PlayVS acquired PlayFly College Esports earlier this year).
Announced at the end of July, the PCL is a new league aimed at collegiate esports players in North America. Organizers claim that the league has signed deals with more than 1,000 campuses in North America for the 2025–2026 season. The league is ultimately the result of PlayVS acquiring PlayFly Esports and Generation Esports back in April; Generation Esports owned scholastic esports leagues High School Esports League (HSEL) and Middle School Esports League (MSEL), while Playfly Esports was the collegiate esports arm of collegiate sports company Playfly.
