Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation (MSEF) and Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE)’s esports division announced the inaugural EXP (Every Extra Penny) charity livestream will take place on Sept. 16 from 12 pm EST – 7 pm EST. Proceeds from the livestream will go directly to supporting the work of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington (BGCGW) including its esports programming for local youth. MSE-affiliated sports stars, esports pro players and broadcast talent from Monumental Sports Network (MNMT) and BGCGW members will “test their gaming skills with a unique, interactive event designed to turn competition into community impact.”
Taking part in the event are Washington Wizards’ Bub Carrington with MNMT host Wes Hall, Washington Capitals’ Brandon Duhaime with MNMT analyst Craig Laughlin, Washington Mystics’ Georgia Amoore with MNMT host Wes Hall, Team Liquid’s Juan “Hungrybox” Debiedma, and Caps Gaming’s Cam “NoSleeves” Halbert.
“Esports is one of the fastest-growing communities around the world, and with EXP, we’re harnessing that passion for purpose,” said Andrew McNeill, VP of esports at Monumental Sports & Entertainment. “The inaugural EXP stream shows how Monumental can leverage our reach in sports to create real impact, and by uniting athletes, streamers, and fans, we’re proving that esports can be a force for social good.”
MSE and MSEF said in a release that the EXP live stream builds on the company’s “long-standing commitment to esports innovation.”
