McDonald’s DMV and global esports organization Gen.G Esports announced Tuesday plans to host its Campus Takeover from Sept. 27 – 28, at Marymount University, in Arlington, Virginia.
Aimed at college students in the Washington D.C., Virginia, and Maryland region, the Campus Takeover is an esports and gaming focused, two-day conference featuring executives and leaders, keynotes, industry panels, and networking opportunities for young people looking to break into the business
In addition to sponsoring the overall event, McDonald’s will provide a sampling of its menu and provide branded prize giveaways. The company will also promote the event via its social media channels and host an on-site interactive booth during the conference.
“We continue our programming with McDonald’s in the DMV region to engage college students on the opportunities within gaming and esports,” said Gen.G CEO Arnold Hur. “Campus Takeover is designed to be an interactive experience to connect with fellow gamers to learn more about our industry and build a fulfilling career.”
Panels planned for Campus takeover include “Balancing Gaming & Mental Wellness, Inclusivity & Representation in Esports & Gaming; Building a Collegiate Esports Brand, Gaming Communities: Online to IRLl Breaking into the Esports Industry; Pro Gamers & Creators; AI, Web3, & the Future of Gaming; and Your Network is Your Networth: Relationship Building.”
In case you are not familiar with it, McDonald’s DMV is the regional company representing 472 franchised restaurants owned and operated by 55 local owner/operators in the McDonald’s of Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia and Eastern Shore areas.
Gen.g is an international esports organization with operations in South Korea and North America. The organization currently competes in League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK), Valorant, Rocket League, and PUBG. Gen.G also operates the Gen.G Global Academy, an academic esports program in Korea.
