Esports gaming data and betting technology platform GRID announced Friday that it has acquired the intellectual property (IP) assets of Berlin-based Bayes Esports for an undisclosed amount. The acquisition follows Bayes Esports liquidation proceedings earlier this year.
The Esports Advocate reported on Aug. 6, that Bayes Esports Solutions GmbH was put under administration and filed for insolvency in late May (case no. 3602 IN 3585/25). On Aug. 1, the Charlottenburg district court in Berlin determined that Bayes is both illiquid and over-indebted, triggering a main insolvency proceeding (Hauptinsolvenzverfahren) in accordance with EU Regulation 2015/848. The court received the insolvency filing on May 26.
GRID said in its announcement that it will integrate the Bayes technology into its GRID Bet division.
This includes technology components developed by Bayes over the last decade, including” live data trading solutions, prediction models, and fan engagement tools.” All of this, the company said, will be rolled into the GRID Data Platform.
“The acquisition of Bayes assets further accelerates GRIDs capabilities to create value for rights holders in esports and shape the next phase of esports betting in particular,” said Moritz Maurer, Founder & CEO of GRID.
GRID serves as the official data platform for League of Legends, Valorant, Rainbow Six Siege, and PUBG, and is a prominent data partner within the Counter-Strike 2 and Dota 2 esports ecosystems. The company signed deals with ESL FACEIT Group and Chinese tournament organizer Clavision in July.
