Riot Games announced Friday that the iconic trophy, the Summoner’s Cup, will make a triumphant return to Worlds 2025, along with first details on the line-up of musical talent that would take part in the annual global championship for League of Legends Esports.

The new Summoner’s Cup is being reintroduced (pictured below) with what Riot calls “a refreshed design” that is lighter, has been modernized, and will be engraved with all 14 past Worlds championship teams. The Summoner’s Cup trophy will be awarded at the conclusion of the Finals in Chengdu by official automotive partner Mercedes-Benz.

In addition to the return of the Summoner’s Cup, the 2025 Worlds Anthem (the theme song) will be performed by popular Chinese singer, songwriter, and music producer G.E.M. She will be part of the Worlds 2025 opening ceremony along with popular electronic artist Anyma.

“I am truly honored to collaborate with Riot Games on the anthem for this yearʼs 15th LoL Esports World Championship in China,ˮ G.E.M. said. “Having followed LoL Esports for some time, Iʼve been deeply moved by the fighting spirit on stage. The courage to sacrifice for the team and the strength to hold on to oneʼs beliefs resonate with me not only as an artist, but also as someone who has risen against the odds and poured everything into pursuing a dream. I hope to capture that spirit through

music and share it with fans all around the world.”

The closing ceremony of Worlds 2025 will feature Anyma, G.E.M., Chrissy Costanza and TEYA.

Finally, Riot announced that, in line with Worlds 2025, it will release elite chromas in League of Legends for two championship teams: 2018 Invictus Gaming (the first LPL Worlds champions) and 2017 Samsung Galaxy (victors at Beijing’s Bird’s Nest). These will be available after patch 25.20 with further details on these new chromas will be revealed at a later date. Riot said in its announcement that Worlds Winner skins have included chromas since 2019, and it is now “extending this tradition to earlier lines, with additional updates planned around future Worlds events.”

Worlds 2025 is set to take place  Oct. 14 – Nov. 9 in Beijing, Shanghai, and Chengdu, China, with the Grand Finals to be held at the Dongʼan Lake Sports Park Indoor Gymnasium in Chengdu. This year’s competition features 17 teams from various LoL Esports regional leagues, competing for a total prize pool of $5 million USD. Worlds celebrates its 15-year anniversary this year.
