Cologne, Germany, based esports organization Cologne Gaming Network (CGN Esports) announced a strategic partnership Wednesday with gaming cafe brand XPERION.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Under the terms of this new partnership between CGN and XPERION owner MediaMarktSaturn, the companies have created “CGN Experience Zones” at the Cologne, Germany, location.
According to the organization the new CGN Experience Zones will make “gaming and esports more accessible across the DACH region” and serve as a central hub for its community.
At the heart of this new partnership will be two dedicated CGN Experience Zones located at XPERION Cologne on Hansaring. The initiative will also include activations at XPERION locations in Berlin and Hamburg, as well as selected MediaMarkt and Saturn stores.
XPERION locations feature areas for the community to engage in competitions in such titles as Fortnite, EA FC, and other popular console titles, along with regular weekly community events and creator meetups, among other things. The basement areas also house an “18+ Pro-Gaming Area,” tailored for games such as League of Legends and Valorant.
Also part of this new deal, CGN Esports will work with XPERION to create events and activations aimed at community building, youth development, and competition, including tournaments, home games, public viewings, boot camps, and open training sessions.
“XPERION Cologne is our new home stadium,” said David Dick, COO & co-owner of CGN Esports. “This is where gaming comes alive and the community thrives. Together with MediaMarktSaturn, we’re bringing pro-gaming and lifestyle directly to the fans: for gaming, celebrating, and cheering. Cologne remains our home – but our impact stretches far beyond its borders.”
Founded in 2020, CGN Esports is an esports organization focused on competition in the DACH region that currently competes in Valorant, Fortnite, World of Warcraft, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, among other titles. In January it announced a strategic partnership with Team Heretics. In May it was crowned the Prime League Champions.
