EA Sports announced details on the Madden Championship Series (MCS) 26, its esports competition dedicated to the Madden NFL game series.
MCS 26, which represents the 11th season of the competition dedicated to the Madden NFL game franchise, kicks off later this month and will offer an overall prize pool of $1.5 million USD. Challengermode will serve as the host platform for the competition, in charge of organizing and facilitating online tournaments.
Running from August to February 2026, MCS 26 will consist of several competition phases including Ladder Play, Elimination, and a Live Event during four themed competitions. Registered players will earn MCS points, which will ultimately decide who the top 13 competitors will be at the end-of-season finale event, the Madden Bowl, in early 2026.
During Ladder Play, players compete against one another in MUT H2H (with matchmaking and tournament administration performed by Challengermode) to MCS earn points and top the leaderboards. The top 544 players from the Ladder Play will compete in a single Elimination bracket, with seeding based on “Ladder Play finishes with advance placement for [the] top 32.” The top eight players from Elimination move on to a live, in-person event hosted at Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida. These phases of competitions will occur several times during the season. Ultimately, the top 13 accumulative MCS point earners from all of the MCS 26 events will earn a spot in the Madden Bowl, which will likely be held during Super Bowl LX week in February 2026.
Players can register on the official MCS 26 site and compete on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. Players must be at least 16-years-old, and be a resident of the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, Australia, Mexico, Spain, or Ireland.
