Franz Peter Mann has been appointed to the new role head of gamescom LAN, effective Sept. 1. If you are not familiar with gamescom LAN, it is an esports competition and community event held within the European focused gaming industry and fan convention held annually in Cologne, Germany.
In this new role, Mann will work closely with organizers TaKeTV and MYI to lead “operational execution and the strategic development of the event,” according to the announcement.
“I’m thrilled to return to the gamescom universe and help shape the next chapter of gamescom LAN,” said Mann. “LAN parties have always held a special place in my heart: whether attending as a fan or as part of my work, I’ve always been inspired by the energy, sense of community, and pure fun they bring. I’m committed to ensuring that every visitor to gamescom LAN enjoys an unforgettable experience.”
Mann brings communications, media, and organizational experience from his roles held at such firms as team lead gaming & entertainment at Burson, where he handled properties for clients such as Activision Blizzard; and his four years leading press and influencer relations for at gamescom.
