Gaming and esports jobs company Hitmarker has been named a partner of the Esports Awards. The news was announced via X on Thursday.
Financial terms and duration of the deal were not disclosed.
Under the terms of the new deal, Hitmarker will serve as an official media partner of the upcoming Esport Awards event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Aug. 24. Further details about the partnership are known at this time, as there doesn’t appear to be a formal or informal announcement on the deal beyond the social media post, but we assume the company’s branding will appear during broadcasts and on social media platforms.

Hitmarker joins other Esports Awards partners including eyewear company Oakley, and the Esports World Cup. Last year the Esports Awards announced that it had partnered with the Esports World Cup Foundation for three years. The Esports World Cup Foundation describes itself as a non-profit that is funded through a grant from the Saudi Arabian government’s sovereign wealth fund, the Public Investment Fund, or PIF.
The fallout from that deal has left the Esports Awards in an awkward place with fans, some of whom objected to the company aligning with a government that has been accused of using entertainment, competitive gaming, and sport as a means to overshadow, or “sportsash” its alleged human rights violations against women, foreign nationals, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. These and other criticisms have been highlighted by international watchdog groups such as Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch.
Instead of running a traditional awards program this year, the Esports Awards is running Decade awards, naming companies, organizations, players, and personalities that have had an impact on the esports community ever the last ten years. More details about those awards can be found at esportsawards.com.
