Switzerland-based gaming audio solutions company SONIX announced Wednesday that it has secured an additional CHF 2.95 million, or $3.73 million USD, from a recently concluded crowdfunding campaign.
Announced in April and using the crowdfunding platform OOMNIUM, SONIX managed to generate 121% of its goal from 92 individual investors, according to its crowdfunding page.
Also in April, the company announced that it had secured CHF 1.8 million—or $2.2 million—in a funding round from a group of undisclosed “business angels, entrepreneurs, and family offices.”
To date, the company has raised approximately $10.9 million from various funding efforts.
In case you are not familiar with SONIX, it is a voice communications company aimed at casual and competitive gamers, providing what it calls AI audio solutions on multiple platforms, including Windows PCs, Apple IOS, and Android mobile devices. Ultimately, it aims to be a direct competitor to Discord, but with a strong focus on “high-performance communication, meaningful engagement, and a gamified user experience.”
