Riot Games announced that the League of Legends World Championship Grand Finals will take place at the 18,000-seat Chengdu Dong’an Lake Sports Park Arena. Riot Games, the game’s developer and publisher, and esports operator TJ Sports ( a joint venture between Tencent and Riot Games that handles esports in China) made the announcement on Friday.
The League of Legends World Championship 2025, is set to take place from Oct. 14 – Nov. 9, and is the biggest League of Legends event of the year. It will be held at the Beijing Intelligence Esports Center, Shanghai Mercedes-Benz Arena, and Chengdu Dong’an Lake Sports Park Arena.
According to the announcement, the play-in and Swiss stage will take place at the Beijing Intelligence Esports Center from Oct. 15 – 25. The center serves as the home venue of League of Legends Pro League (LPL). It also hosts a space for the home venue for Jing Dong Gaming (JDG) called the JDG Intel Esports Center, with a capacity of over 2,000 seats.
The knockout stage will take place at the Shanghai Mercedes-Benz Arena from Oct. 28 – Nov. 2. The venue has a seating capacity of over 18,000 seats, and often hosts international events, including the NBA, WWE, as well as esports events such as Dota 2’s The International (2019).
The grand final will take place at the Chengdu Dong’an Lake Sports Park Arena. Construction on the arena was completed in 2021 and has a seating capacity of 18,000, depending on configuration. The main venue served as the home of the 2021 Summer World University Games, and has been a popular destination for major musical events, such as the OneRepublic concert in 2023.
